Once again, the WEVs board welcomes women from all over the world the night before EV Roadmap launches in Portland, Oregon. This year we will launch WEVs officially with the Board, a website, logo, LinkedIn group, local chapters, & more!

We will celebrate at our summit with Oregon wine tastings, frosé, a photo booth, A lady DJ, & a dream WEVs panel. We are proud to be hosted by Jacobsen Salt Co., giving us a space to host our 2019 WEVs Summit, with all local, women-founded vendors.

This year, our top “Bertha Benz” level sponsor, Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, will share how they’re ensuring women are working across their organization, and what efforts they’re undertaking to elevate women in this industry.

Electric Luxury: the 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC400

May 2019

From electric aircrafts to electric luxury, Grace Kim is rewarding Women of EVs.

“My passion for electric vehicle transportation stems from spending the past few years at two electric vehicle transportation companies (automotive & aircrafts) in Los Angeles. At Mercedes-Benz, the electrification of mobility plays a role in the company’s global strategy. Furthermore, we are putting a significant emphasis on creating a highly diverse working environment. We strongly believe that diversity is essential for innovation and creativity and allows MBRDNA to remain one of the most desirable places to create premium mobility.”

veloz

Building on the momentum made by the California Plug-in Electric Vehicle Collaborative, which eventually transformed into what the industry now knows as “VELOZ,” our “Helene Rother” level sponsor continues its support of strong women in leadership. VELOZ has always walked hand in hand with the network of powerhouse California women in leadership like Mary Nichols, Janea Scott, Christine Kehoe, Carla Peterman, and many more along the way. A strong partner of WEVs, VELOZ (“fast” in Spanish) will be an ongoing supporter in this move to increase diversity in our industry…quickly of course.

Plug & Pinot

“Plug & Pinot,” our “Helene Rother” level sponsor, will be serving up Oregon wine tastings and incorporating some exquisite Oregon Wine Country rosé for our custom WEVs “Fast-Charged Frosé.” “Plug & Pinot” was founded in the winter of 2014, when WEVs Co-Founder, Ashley Horvat, partnered up with a talented crew of Oregon Wine Country industry leaders, led by Reid Oliver at Winderlea Winery, who all recognized the need to market their region to electric vehicles. All of the wineries had already installed EV chargers and it occurred to them that by working with Harry Dalgaard at Travel Oregon and Horvat, who were at the time collaborating to create the “Oregon Electric Byways” initiative, they could solidify “The Oregon Wine Country EV Byway” as a hotspot for EVs. Since its founding, Plug & Pinot has partnered with women winery founders, women winemakers, and women leading the wine business to develop creative collaborations that encourage their valued customers to consider EVs for their personal vehicles.

2019 WEVs X Plug & Pinot Wineries:

Columbia Willamette Clean Cities Coalition

Special thanks to our core WEVs fiscal partner, WEVs panel extraordinaire, and consummate “yes” guy, Brian Trice. Brian quite literally will do anything to help all WEVs, whom he’s so graciously called “game changers.” He adeptly leads several efforts, of which his main role is Executive Director of the Columbia Willamette Clean Cities Coalition (CWCCC), which serves as our fiscal partner and all around go getter organization, supporting WEVs every step of the way. Almost every email from Brian is, “yes.” Unequivocally someone to have on your side and we will continue to partner with CWCCC, Green Transportation Summit & Expo (GTSE), and anything else Brian works on.
