Women have been mobilizing, advocating, engineering, & designing the future of the electric vehicle industry.

However, some have yet to catch up to all of the historic and potential contributions of women in our industry. WEVs HQ will be collecting the good, the bad and the ugly communications about women & EVs on this page. It might not always be pretty, but we’re committed to transparency and as part of our mission to elEVate women, we’re bound to encounter bad takes that require uncomfortable discussions.

Let’s celebrate where they got it right and where they got it wrong, so we can improve how people understand and communicate about women & EVs. Together we can negate all of the TIRED tropes out there and highlight the WIRED content that elEVates all of us.

How did Green Car Reports get this so wrong in the article below? Let us count the ways…GCR has since included an apology for this article and this tweet that was justly ratioed. However, the fact that this piece went to publishing, seemingly without any circumspect or consternation about its underlying biased premise, shows how far we have to go to stop this type of awful take.

Don't get us wrong, we have a few female commenters, and know plenty of women automotive writers who are often unusually insightful.”
